Warm Wishes Winter Gift

It's December and that means that winter weather is here!!!  Dry winter air is rough on my skin, plain and simple and I imagine it's got to be rough on just about everyone's skin.  So, if you're looking for a great winter gift idea to give to someone, might I suggest Udderly Smooth Lotions.

I have used Udderly Smooth Hand Cream for years.  I keep a nice small tube of it in my desk drawer and purse and it is quite honestly the best stuff to have 'on hand' when you need to prevent dry skin. That's why I'm perfectly happy giving it as gifts.  I mean who doesn't need hand cream...it's perfect for anyone who has to use their hands a lot or are on their feet all day, teachers, cashiers, postal workers, restaurant workers, nurses YOU NAME IT!.....and if you need a creative way to present your gift to someone, I GOT YOU, BOO.

Here are two very simple ideas you I know you will love!

Idea #1 - Warm Hands Manicure in a Mug.

Fill a mug with Udderly Smooth Hand Cream, a hot chocolate packet, knitted gloves, nail polish, emery board and perhaps a special fun treat - I used Milk straws.  You can even add a personal touch with a monogram mug!

You can package the mug in cellophane and add ribbon and trim.  I created a gift card holder using a Sizzix Die Cut by Laura Kelly Designs.  You can follow the steps below to make your own.

Using the Laura Kelly Hot Chocolate die by Sizzix, run paper and and felt through a Big Shot.  I used two patterned papers for my spoon and mug, brown paper for the hot chocolate, white glitter paper for the marshmallows and pink felt for the back.

Pull apart or cut the sections from the brown paper and adhere the top section of the brown paper to the mug shape.  Then adhere the remaining brown piece to the back of the patterned paper leaving space to slide your gift card into.

Add more adhesive with a strong bond tape runner or glue and attach the full felt shape to the back of the card.

Place the marshmallows shape into the the slots on the front brown piece and secure in place with adhesive.

To make the spoon and pink heart, simply run your paper and felt through the Big Shot and assemble.  I created the pink heart by running a piece of felt through the cutter and then snipped off the handle  from the spoon shape with scissors.  You can make the spoon tag by cutting out shapes with twos separate pieces of patterned paper.  Attach the spoon tag with ribbon or twine and tie it to your mug. You can write or stamp a simple sentiment onto the tag.

Idea #2 - Warmest Winter Wishes Gift Box

If you're not in a crafty mood, simply fill a pretty gift box with paper sizzle and add a few Udderly Smooth products.

Top your box with a pretty bow and add a fun tag.  You can download and print this Udderly Smooth inspired Warmest Winter Wishes tag that I designed.  I also made a few other tags with some other catchy phrases that you can print for free!

WIN AN UDDERLY SMOOTH PRIZE PACK!

Udderly Smooth is made in the good ol' U.S. of A. and is a product I really love!  If you haven't tried this product yet or are a fan, you have a chance to win an Udderly Smooth Prize Pack and a $50 VISA Gift Card.  Contest runs through December 10.

How to Make a Wine Bottle Gift Bag

There are times in one's life where they will need to make a wine bottle gift bag....it's a fact.  If you ever happen to find yourself in a sitch where you just don't have the perfect gift bag for a bottle of wine ....I got you, Boo!

I used this idea to make a bag for a wine and cheese gift idea I shared recently after taking a trip to World Market.  I love, love, love their selection of gift wrap.  They do carry wine bottle gift bags, but I really loved this handpainted paper and wanted to use it as part of my gift idea.

Here is what you will need to make your own pretty little bag:

A sheet of sturdy gift wrap 30"x21" (I used gift wrap from World Market)
Scissors
Double sided tape or glue
Hole Punch
Ribbon
Gift Tag

Measure out your sheet and score using the measurements shown below - be sure to work from the blank side of the paper.

Once your paper is measured, scored and folded then snip off the 2" bottom on tab A.  Then cut a 2" slit between tab B and C, D and E and E and F.  Fold up the corners of tabs B and E towards the center to create a point.

Seal Tab A to Tab G with 2-sided tape and fold up and seal the bottom tabs to make the bag.

I had a little bit of paper that overlapped.  If this happens for you, just snip off the excess - no biggie!

Add hole punches to top 1" flap and thread ribbon through holes to make a handle.  Place a piece of sturdy board inside the bag to reinforce the bottom and place your wine in the bag.

So, it's just that simple!  My takeaway tips on making this bag is to be sure you're using a good quality paper that is strong and doesn't tear easily.  Also be sure to use a strong adhesive to seal up your tabs.

Now go on and pin and share this crafty project with your friends!!!

Wine and Cheese Gifts with Expressionery Wraps

Rustic Picnic Basket, wine bottle gift bag, Cupcake Wine, World Market Wine and Cheese, Pretty Cloth Napkins

I recently had an opportunity to put together a gift using items and gift wrap from World Market and created a sweet gift tag using a Laura Kelly licensed design self-inking stamp from Expressionery Wraps.  (CANNOT get over how cute that stamp is!)

self-inking stamp, gift bag, wine bottle, cupcake stamp

I need to be clear.....I LOVE ME SOME WORLD MARKET....It's right up there with my love for Tar-jay and Ikea.  So, working on this project was simple math SHOPPING + WORLD MARKET + GIFT MAKING + STAMPING = WIN FOR KEISHA.

Whilst perusing the aisles for a gift, I came across the one and ONLY wooden picnic basket in the store. It was thee quintessential picnic basket!  Rustic, woven and perfect!  I was in love. Now all that was left to do was come to up with something else to put into the basket for a gift!

World Market has an AMAAAAZING wine section and nothing pairs better with wine than some good old cheese & crackers.  So, I tossed in summadat along with a fancy wine infused salami, acrylic stemless wine glasses (aka tumblers).....because they're light, portable, not prone to break....and very pretty napkins.  Oh the joys of World Market.  A wine and cheese picnic basket is a great gift idea to give anyone with a taste for the finer things in life - right?  Right!

I assembled my gift basket like a BOSS and then made a wine bottle gift bag using a sheet of  very, oh so very pretty paper wrap from World Market.   Then, cause I'm crafty like that, I made tags for my gift bag and basket using the stamp that I received from Expressionery Wraps --- and let me just say this stamp is so me!  It has a cupcake on it.....a cupcake people!  So friggin' adorbs!!!!

If I haven't made it clear......I love this stamp!

This basket also would make a nice welcome home gift to a new homeowner, newlyweds, bride-to-be or just someone who loves them a good old basket of HELLOOOO!!!!

Mustache Candy Jar Father's Day Gift

Welcome to our May Blog Hop!

This month we are focusing on all things Father’s Day…it’s only a few weeks away! Get ready for some great ideas, inspiration and how to as you move along through the blog hop.

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Cristi Wuenschel at The Keeper of the Memories on our Living with Style Blog Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you make sure to see and learn from all of the articles featured here today.

In our home, dad is king - except sometimes when it comes to keeping his special candy stash all to himself.  So, to make sure the kids know that dad's favorite treat (bubblegum) is off limits I created an etched candy jar just for him for Father's Day!

To make this project you will need:

Electronic Cutting Machine
etching cream
a glass jar
Vinyl
Popsicle Stick
Dad's favorite candy
Using my eClips2 Electronic Cutting Machine, I created an image to make a stencil with adhesive vinyl.

Once the image was cut, I weeded out the positive pieces (the solid letters) - I left the pieces in place for letters that have negative spaces like A's and D's.

Then I placed transfer paper over the vinyl to keep all the pieces in place and placed it over the glass jar.

The etching cream was next.  I learned that etching cream is not nice to skin or certain surfaces.  So, I was sure to protect my work table....and didn't put gloves on my hands because I like to live dangerously....but you should really wear protective gloves when you work with it.

The application is pretty simple, you just apply it with a Popsicle stick and let it sit for about 5 minutes and then rinse it off.  Allow it to dry properly and then remove your adhesive vinyl.

Fill your jar with Dad's favorite candy and set it out for him on Father's Day!

The next stop is Kristy Stewart at Under My Gabled Roof on Living with Style Blog Hop! Thanks for visiting and I hope to see you again next month!
