Little Pink Dress Party

As many of you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  It came to me that a great way to celebrate fighting breast cancer is to have a Little Pink Dress Party.  Now, I cannot say for certain that I will personally be able to have one of my own, since my October is pretty booked, but I think it's definitely something that can be done to celebrate those who've beat cancer, are kicking it's butt or have someone in their lives affected by it.  If not anything at all, it's an event that can help to inform people of this disease.

I made an inspiration board for it and thought I would share it with anyone who would be interested in having one of their own.

If you can't see all the pictures you should be able to click on the photo for a larger view.

This would be a perfect function for women's group or to jump start a breast cancer related run/walk - it would even be cool to do it as a brunch.

Here are some suggestions to get you started:

Invitations:
Send them out now!  The sooner the better.  You'll be competing for Halloween parties - unless you know how to mesh macabre with worthy cause.

An invite with a cute pink dress or ribbon graphic with a bold statement like the ever so popular, 'Save the Tah-Tahs' is sure to grab some attention.

Set your time for cocktail hour or a nice brunch depending on the type of mood/guests you're planning for.

Food:
I'm thinking anything pink and bite sized!  Salmon Sliders, Pancetta wrapped white asparagus, Mini Ham Sandwiches, pink candies and Pink Cupcakes (hello) for dessert!

Drinks:
Pink cocktails are always fun!  Try a Nuvo cocktail or a Strawberry Mojito if you want to have a non-alcoholic drink on hand a classic Shirley Temple is always a hit!

Decor:
Pink Linens, Pink Lanterns, Pink Lighting and a Pink Ribbon Tree like the one created by HWTM - Just Think Pink!  Well alright, if you wanted a contrast, black, white, deep pink, fuschia and even orange fairs well with Pink.....but I say you can never have too much Pink!

So, this October, GO ALL PINK and show your support for all those fighting and beating breast cancer!
