Cowgirl Birthday Guest Party and Oreo Pops Giveaway Winner

Business first!

Last week, for the first time,  I participated in Halloween Party 2010 hosted by the fantabulous Miss Vanessa over at A Fanciful Twist blog.  In my post, I offered a giveaway for the Oreo Pops that were featured in one of the photos from the party.

The winner of these delicioso treats is (DRUMROLL PLEASE.................)

Miss Belinda, send your address my way asap - Halloween's a comin'!

I got a message on FB about two weeks ago from a friend with pictures from his daughters' birthday.  He and his wife planned a blowout bash for her with a Cowgirl theme.  I really love all that they put into this event from the Wild West themed wooden plaque invitations to the activities like 'Milk the Cow' and 'Pretty Pony'.

Check out the details below....

What a fun party!  They also did a fantastic Casino-themed party for his mom's birthday, which I made a cake for this past summer.  They might not be in the party plan biz, but they definitely have an option for a fall back plan!!!!
As I begin to 're-fashion' my blog, I'm thinking that a great weekly feature can be a guest party post!  What do you think?  If  you have a unique and fun party you'd like featured on my bloggy-blog - send me an email!

Roller Disco and Down the Bayou Sneak Peeks

I am always humbled, shocked and elated when I get emails from readers who contact me and write how much they enjoy reading my blog.  So, when they ask me to help them plan parties for their kids - but they live miles away from me OR in one case, overseas - I just cannot resist and absolutely honored to work with them.

For the last few weeks I have been working with two separate online clients to design custom invites and decorations for their daughter's upcoming parties this month.

Here is a sample of the collection I did for one of my clients.  Her daughter is going to have a Roller Disco Skate Party - how fun!

I went with fun bright colors and tried to create a retro feel while still keeping a contemporary look.  I also made a centerpiece for the birthday girl's table - but forgot to take pictures before I mailed it (dang).  I made up signs for the individual guest tables with 70's themed words to identify where people would sit, like 'Way Cool Cats', 'Platform Players', 'Disco Ballers' and 'Foxy Mamas'!

I had another client who reached out to me from overseas back in June after she came across pictures from my daughter's Princess and The Frog party and this other princess party that I did.  However, she put a cool spin on the idea and choose to do a Bayou theme with a touch of elegance.  After corresponding over the course of five months we are finally finished with all the details.  Here is a look at what we came up with:

BTW - I created that damask pattern myself - using PowerPoint, of course and I also did the other patterns.  That damask pattern was a bitch - but I gotterdone!  I am really considering doing some type of video tutorial on creating graphics using PowerPoint - I don't see that many out there and I have had to learn so much by trial and error.  I will put that in my ideas to bank on file.

Overall, both parties and clients have been such fun to work with; I cannot wait to see pictures of how everything turns out!

Yo Gabba Gabba and Sponge Bob Party Recaps

Yes, it happened again.....I was forced to do ANOTHER character party.....dude.......I mean it was for my family members and all and really I didn't mind, but seriously??? SERIOUSLY????

Okay - so this isn't about me, right?

Here are photos of the cake that I decorated for the Sponge Bob party:

We got the idea for the cake from a cake book that my step daughter found and used it to design this cake.  Luckily, she found cake toppers at a bakery and I just added the details to the cake and cupcakes she baked!

The next party I helped with was for my little grandson’s 3rd birthday party.  He loves Yo Gabba Gabba and when my stepdaughter called a few days before the party to say she couldn’t find decorations at the party store, I just could not resist.  Okay – maybe I really wasn’t FORCED to make anything ;)

Since the party store didn't have Yo Gabba Gabba plates, I enhanced clear plastic plates with personalized circle tags.
