Mother's Day Floral Wall Hanging

Today I'm sharing how to make a colorful and affordable Mother's Day Floral Wall Hanging.

I purchased a bunch of silk flowers from the Dollar Store and found two succulent plants and a wooden tray and letters.  I scored big on the succulents as they were on clearance and I also had a 50% off coupon and paid just $3 for my tray and my letters were just a little over $3.  The rest of the supplies I already had on hand.  So, the total cost to make this was around $21.

To make this project I used the following supplies:
Fake flowers
Styrofoam (the photo shows green floral foam, I ended up using basic Styrofoam because I realized I needed to paint it),
Unfinished wooden tray
Wooden letters that spell out M-O-M
Moss sheets
Floral wire
Paint
Foam brush
Glue gun
Picture hanging kit
Ribbon

For this project I used  Folk Art Acrylic Paint in Patina to paint the tray.

To be sure I knew where I wanted the letters to go, I placed them on the tray along with the flowers.  Once I was happy with where everything was situated I took a photo of my layout so, I could have a visual of where everything was placed, as I was going to remove the items so I could actually paint the tray.

As the paint dried, I traced, then cut out letters from the moss sheets and hot glued them on.

Once the tray was dry and my letters completely wrapped with moss, I filled it with broken pieces of Styrofoam and then added the letters and flowers.

Once all the flowers were back in place, I hot glued them into the Styrofoam and then wrapped a bit of floral wire around the moss letters.

Florals are such a big thing right now, so, I know this project will make a great Mother's Day Gift, and because the flowers will never die, it can be brought out year after year!  If you end up making this project, I'd love to see your version.  Leave a link to your photo below.

Fashionista Party Dress Box Favor with Sizzix - Video Tutorial

It's that time of year again!

The Mini Diva is turning the BIG 1-0!  Double digits ya'll!!!!  I don't know whether to clap or cry!
This year, we're getting geared up for her FASHIONISTA themed birthday party and I'll be sharing a series of videos with you full of ideas on all the fun elements we're incorporating into her fancy celebration.

I also have some exciting news! I've partnered up with Sizzix and am sharing how to use their eClips 2 cutting machine to make all party decor for her big day!

Here's the first video in the FASHIONISTA party series - an adorable Party Dress favor box!

Can ya believe that was my first every video tutorial?!!!  How'd I do?  This was also my first time working with the Sizzix eClips 2 Electronic Cutter and I fell absolutely in love with it and the eCal Software (essentially Sure Cuts a Lot) that you use to create and setup all your images.

I have other cutting machines and I must say, that this machine superseded my expectations by leaps and bounds.  Dare I say, I'm in LOVE with it?  The precision of the cuts are amazing, the software itself is so intuitive, so much so, that it didn't take me much time to figure out how to use many of the features. Now, if you don't own a cutting machine, don't fret!  You can use the ideas I'm sharing and find a way that best works for your own party!

I'll be sharing lots more on the Sizzix eClips 2 Electronic Cutter and more ideas for hosting a super fab FASHIONISTA party!

I was provided with Sizzix Products to review for this post - all opinions are fully my own.

Don't Be Jelly - Fun Jelly Bean Easter Gift Ideas

Looking for a fun Easter idea or a lovely spring hostess gift?  Here are a few creative ideas for what you can do with the JELLY BEAN PRINTABLES I shared last Easter!

Canning Jar gifts are all the rage these days.  This gift idea is also super easy and simple.  I found these pre-filled plastic eggs at my local dollar store.  I placed a bit of paper shred into a glass canning jar and added a jelly bean filled egg into each jar.  Tied a bow on them and attached a funny sayings label with a pop-up dot and INSTANT gift!

Make your own easy Easter candy! You can use this recipe to make Jelly Bean Bark and place the bark in an acrylic truffle box with a bit of paper shred.  Tie off with a ribbon and attach a fun label - makes a quick and fun gift!

Remember a jelly bean theme is also great for a baby shower or 1st bday!  You can GET THE JELLY BEAN PRINTABLES HERE

Have a wonderful Easter holiday!
