{Pin-tastic....} Monster High SPA Party Ideas and Invitation First Look

I didn't get to share my Pin-tastic Tuesday post yesterday because I really wanted to share my Farm Stand Inspired Easter party & Free Printables with you.  So, I'm doing it today!  Yay!

I am in the process of planning The Mini Diva's birthday party this year.  If you've been reading this blog for a while, you know that I am no fan of the cookie cutter licensed party decor.  It has it's place.....just not for me.  So, I saw this as a challenge to give my daughter the theme she wants without it being so character focused.  My plan is to have a 'freakishly fabulous' spa party.....with pops of Monster High elements tossed in the mix. There is no better place to go these days than Pinterest for a little inspiration.  Check out the board I'm currently adding ideas to.....it's very spa-inspired ;):

Here's a sneaky-poo first look at the invitation!

I can't wait to share all the different projects I'm working on for my baby girl's bash....so stay tuned!!!

(P.S. You can keep up to date with all the behind-the-scenes CW&BD cray-cray on Instagram!)

{Printables} Farmstand Chocolate Bunny Printables

Sooooo happy to share the pics for my latest printables.

I was really inspired to create something that reminded me of the country or very much like a farm stand....and this is what I came up with....lots of gingham, burlap, dried corn silk, and bunny cotton tails!

I found the only bunch of fresh carrots in the store - with their tops on them - SCORE!  I just put them in a woven basket I had in my party stash and tossed in some plain white hard boiled eggs.

I love putting party dots onto long skewers for cupcake toppers, I think it really changes the look of the cupcakes and add some visual interest!  I put them into my cottontail cupcakes.

I chose to swag the printable banner across the table instead of above and opted for a handmade bunting instead, for my backdrop.

To dress up a plain mason jar, I wrapped a strip of burlap around the lip of the jar and glued a cotton ball to the bow.  These orange tulips went perfectly with my colorscape!

I made these blue eggs using one pack of Berry Blue Kool-Aid and 2/3 cup of water.  I really wanted them to be a very soft blue, but was working in poor light and didn't realize that as the eggs dried they would get darker.  So, if you're going for a very soft look and want to use Kool-Aid to dye your eggs, I wouldn't leave them in longer than 45 seconds to 1 minute.

For the favor tags, I  used party dots to decorate these dollar store carrot shaped treat containers that I filled with jelly beans.

Keeping along with the country farm stand theme, I filled these ball mason jars with Carolina Sweet Tea!

I think this set is just adorable, even though I am a bit biased.  It's perfect for an Easter Brunch or an  Egg Hunt.  You can download these Easter Printables here!

The printable set includes:

Fill-In Invitations
Blank Invitations
Blank Menu Cards
Happy Easter Banner
Party Dots
Cupcake Wrappers
Treat Bag Toppers
Straw Flags
Chocolate Bunny Decals

They also come with different color options.....just choose your favorite download and print!

{Cupcake Monday} Easy Cotton Tail Cupcakes for Easter

I am currently finishing up my Easter printables shoot but wanted to show you how I made these easy 'Cotton Tail' cupcakes that I'm using for the shoot.

To start you will need:

You favorite cupcakes
White Frosting
Shredded Coconut......That's it!

I've been very busy lately and didn't have time to make cupcakes from scratch (gasp).  I used store brought cupcakes for the shoot.  They originally had chocolate frosting on them with rainbow sprinkles and that was not going to work for the theme.  Here's a trick I learned.....freeze the cupcakes, the frosting will harden and then carefully remove the frozen frosting from the cupcake.  Then, you can top the cupcakes with your favorite frosting (I use this Buttercream recipe for my frosting).

Next, simply coat your cupcake with the shredded coconut and......

Voila!  Don't they look like little bunny cotton tails????

ENJOY!

I can't wait to share with you the printable collection I designed for this Easter -- it'll make you so HOP-py!

{Real Parties} More Photos from Operation Shower

As promised, here are more photos from my fun-filled day working with Operation Shower.

All of the lovely printables were designed by Jennifer Sbranti of Hostess with the Mostess.

There were plenty of raffled products & items donated by Babies R Us ....oh lookie....more POMS decor :)

The sweets table, styled by Katie Wells & Chris Nease was just darling.....here's a closeup of some of the delicious treats!

Here I am with the guest speaker,  local News 4 Anchor, Angie Goff.....(She's so sweet and has a cute blog, Oh My Goff - check it out!)......and below I am pictured with local party pal, Katie Wells of Petite Social.

Funny thing happened on the way to Operation Shower....I ran into fellow DC Ladies writer & blogger & new party pal, Ashleigh Dorfman, of Posh Productions.  You know when you go to a function, and know you know a person in the room from somewhere, but can't quite put your finger on it until you finally find out who the person is?  Yeah, that was me and Ashleigh!  LOL  Here we are pictured with Amy McKee Belle Isle and Chris Nease.  Here is a good shot of Katie & Chris!

This is who it is all about - the moms, dads & babies of the military!!!!  It was a truly a feel-good moment to see the joy & happiness on their faces!

For more details on this and other Operation Shower events, check out their Facebook page!
